Sau khi hoàn tất thử nghiệm cắt ngang trên màng phủ, người vận hành phải đánh giá chính xác tỷ lệ phần trăm diện tích bong tróc và sau đó phân loại, phương pháp truyền thống là bằng mắt thường. Vì khó có thể định lượng chính xác diện tích bong tróc bằng mắt thường nên có sự khác biệt chủ quan tương đối lớn trong kết quả hoặc phân loại và dễ gây tranh cãi. Để giải quyết vấn đề này và cải thiện khả năng lặp lại và khả năng tái tạo kết quả thử nghiệm cắt ngang, Biuged đã phát triển một thiết bị có thể tự động xác định diện tích bong tróc. Thiết bị này sử dụng công nghệ xử lý hình ảnh kỹ thuật số máy tính (phân tích tự động trực quan) để chụp ảnh diện tích cắt ngang, sau đó phân tích và tính toán hình ảnh kỹ thuật số, có thể nhanh chóng và dễ dàng thu được kết quả chính xác.

Máy nhận dạng hình ảnh để cắt ngang BGD 350 bao gồm một cấu trúc hình trụ cầm tay, có thể đặt thuận tiện trên mẫu diện tích cắt ngang cần đánh giá. Thiết bị cũng được trang bị camera và đèn LED có cường độ chiếu sáng có thể điều chỉnh.
