- VST (Nhiệt độ làm mềm Vicat) là nhiệt độ mà tại đó bề mặt của mẫu thử (1kg hoặc 5kg) bị kim chuẩn (có tiết diện 1mm²) xuyên qua một độ sâu 1,13 mm.
- Nhiệt độ tăng lên với tốc độ ổn định 50°C mỗi giờ.
- Thử nghiệm này phù hợp với các vật liệu cứng ở nhiệt độ phòng. Mẫu thử có độ dày từ 3 đến 6,5 mm và kích thước ít nhất là 10 x 10 mm hoặc Ø10mm.
